[Camden Station, TX] [Wizard Wells] [Post Office - View, TX] [Old Ft. Davis, TX] [Lazy Afternoon, Palestine, TX] [Horses Bought & Sold]

These were painted in the late 1960s and early 1970s. They are some of Geoff Greene's earliest efforts, and are quite different from his later work. They clearly show the influence of Geoff's friend and mentor Ancel E. Nunn, the noted American regionalist, with whose family Geoff lived and studied for nearly a year during the late 1960s.

Most come from the estate of the artists father - prolific columnist, historian & novelist A.C. Greene - to whom some were given (note the dedication on "Wizard Wells") and by whom others were appropriated ;-)

These and other vintage Geoff Greene paintings are housed at The Charles Attal Gallery in Austin, TX. A few may still be available.
